Rate your key retailers

Star the retailers that matter to you, so you have a quick list of them and your dashboard cards show the right retailers for you.

Giving your retailers a star rating takes a minute, and it decides which retailers you see across Eebz. Do it before you build your first dashboard.

Rating does two things:

  • It gives you a quick list of the retailers that matter to you. Sort or filter the Retailers page by your rating to see them together.
  • It sets which retailers your dashboard cards show. Pricing, Availability and Rank cards filter on your rating, which the app calls Importance. So one dashboard shows each person their own retailers, without anyone building a separate copy.

One dashboard, the right retailers for each person

Your ratings are yours. Each person in your organisation rates retailers for themselves, and cards that filter on Importance use the ratings of whoever is looking. Build one dashboard of pricing, availability and rank cards, share it, and everyone sees their own retailers on it.

Nobody has to rebuild a card when an account changes hands. The new owner rates it, and it appears on their view of the dashboard.

Rate a retailer

  1. Type the retailer's name in the search bar at the top of any page, then click the Retailers tab in the results. See search.
  2. The Retailers page opens with the retailers that match. Already on the Retailers page? Type in the search box above the table instead.
  3. In the first column, Retailer Importance, hover over the stars to preview a rating, then click the star you want: the third star gives three stars, the fifth gives five.

The Retailers page searched for Amazon: the search box, the Retailer Importance column, and three stars being set on Amazon USSearch for the retailer, then click a star in the Retailer Importance column.

The rating saves as soon as you click, and Importance saved appears at the top of the page. There is no save button.

Change or clear a rating

  • Change it by clicking a different star.
  • Clear it by hovering over the stars and clicking the cross that appears beside them. Importance deleted confirms it. The retailer goes back to no stars and drops off cards that filter on Importance.

See your list

On the Retailers page, click the Retailer Importance column header to sort your rated retailers to the top. To show only certain ratings, open the filter panel and add Retailer Importance under Ownership & Admin. See how filters work.

What the stars mean is up to you

Eebz gives you one to five stars and puts no meaning on them. Pick a scheme that fits how you work, then set each card to the star levels you want.

The most common scheme is priority:

  • 5 stars: top-priority retailers
  • 3 stars: mid-priority retailers
  • 1 star: low-priority retailers

Other schemes work as well. You could group retailers by channel (specialists, marketplaces, grocers), by territory or by account team. A card set to 5 stars then shows only that group.

Choose the star levels on a card

Pricing, Availability and Rank cards have an Importance filter with a tick box for each star level. With all five ticked, a card shows every retailer you have rated, whatever the rating.

To narrow a card, open its settings (the gear icon that appears when you hover over the card) and untick the levels you don't want. A card ticked for 5 stars only leaves out the retailers you gave 3 stars.

The Pricing Settings panel, with the Importance filter's five star levels ticked and Importance in the Add Filter listTick the star levels a card should show. Importance is required on Pricing, Availability and Rank cards.

Importance is a required filter on these cards. If it has been removed, the card stays blank: add it back from Add Filter and all five levels return ticked.

Card showing no data? Check your ratings

If a Pricing, Availability or Rank card shows No records found, the most likely reason is that none of your rated retailers match the card. Either you haven't rated any retailers yet, or the ones you rated are at star levels the card leaves out. A colleague may see data on the same dashboard because they have rated their own retailers.

A Pricing card showing No records found, and the hint to mark your retailer's importanceWith no rated retailers at the levels the card is set to, the card has nothing to show.

To fix it:

  1. Rate the retailers you want to see.
  2. Open the card's settings and check that Importance includes the star levels you used.
  3. If the card is still empty, check its other filters, such as territory and date. See dashboard cards.

Retailer importance is your own rating of a retailer. It is separate from a product's importance rating (AAA to C), which says how widely retailers should stock the product. See lifecycle and importance.
